Congratulations to Trinity Special Education Teacher Ashley Fernandez, who won a prize in the iHeartRadio and Boost Mobile "Thank a Teacher" contest.
Ashley was nominated by the family of one of her grades 1 and 2 students, who wanted her to be recognized for all she gives her students each day, approaching her work with warm energy and compassion.
"I was totally surprised and honored," said Ms. Fernandez, who is starting her fourth year of teaching at Trinity. "I love working with all my students through the years. Being a Special Ed teacher, you sometimes get to work with students for more than one year, which is special. I love what I do. I'm very grateful to be considered and recognized. I love being part of the City School District of New Rochelle community, and teaching at Trinity is the best. The families are fantastic, my colleagues are wonderful, and the administration is terrific."
Ms. Fernandez was awarded a certificate and a $500 gift card. Well done!
